Leah McDowell Spink
is a curriculum resource teacher for Seneca Valley School
District and ASSET, Inc. She has been a teacher for 16 years.
For the past three years she has been actively involved in
professional development for elementary teachers and developing
environmental education curricula. She is the co-author of
the student journal My
Monarch Investigation.
Leah lives in western Pennsylvania with her husband, dog,
and cockatiels.
Ba Rea is a writer, educator, illustrator and designer, She
has her Pennsylvania teaching certification and a masters
degree in writing for children and adolescents and has been
raising monarch butterflies and introducing them to students,
teachers and the general public for over 30 years. For last
5 years she has raised monarchs for use in local western Pennsylvania
classrooms. She teaches courses each summer for teachers who
want to use monarchs in their classrooms.
